# 80 - Try snowshoeing again

As promised, I tried snowshoeing again. Not only did I try it again, but Ryan bought me a really nice pair for Christmas. It is only -1 today and is snowing very lightly, so I strapped on my snowshoes and put Jackson on his leash, and away we went. We went across my neighbours property through an open field, along a creek, and through a little trail. It was beautiful! Now I’m trying to talk Ryan into getting a pair, so he can come along with me, might take a lot of convincing though! Hopefully it will be this nice again on the weekend, cause I will be sure to go again!

# 46 - Finish knitting my scarf

I finally finished knitting my scarf, and was eager to cast it off, so that I would be able to wear it on Christmas Day to show everyone. As this was my first finished product, this was my first time casting off. I read out of a knitting book, as well as watching a tutorial online, and I still managed to screw up my last stitch. I tried to fix it, and ended up with a hole in the end of the scarf. I was pretty ticked, but thought ‘oh well, just a little hole’. Then I realized every time that little hole got pulled on, I lost a stitch and the hole got bigger. So though the scarf is completed, I am not wearing it until I get a little help from someone who knows what there doing, and then I will start repairing :) Soon enough I will be making a matching hat… I hope :)

# 70 - Make homeade dog treats

So this was fun… Ryans parents are big dog lovers and have two dogs, Oscar and Bailey. Though my goal was to make Jackson dog treats, I went to the dollar store bought some paint, ribbons and brown paper lunch bags to turn them into Christmas gifts for Oscar and Bailey. Jackson didn’t miss out, he got quite a few, and was also the testing dummy. As far as I could see, he looked like he liked them ;) The finished product…

#93 - Make homeade Christmas cards

So I finished making my Christmas cards on the 13th and sent them out! However, I normally send out a lot of cards, but because I was making them on my own I only sent out 13….

BBQ Pizza Pie

So I haven’t been updating my blog, but that doesn’t mean I have been neglecting my list. I have been very very busy baking lately. We had a bake and book sale at work yesterday to help raise money for my breast cancer walk. The sale was very successful, as we raised $450.00, $150 each. I have also purchased all my stuff to start making christmas cards, and will hopefully be starting them tomorrow after putting up our christmas lights! So if I finish them tomorrow, thats another thing that I can scratch of my list. I also have been keeping up with my journal, every week as promised. This week I bought a scrapbook to make my book on 30 poems and quotes, so hopefully I will be able to start that during or after the holidays. I have lots of new recipes for my list, as I have made lots of new recipes for my christmas tins that I have been making. Tonight for dinner I made a new recipe from the Kraft Canada website. I believe it was called texmex chicken, but I have named it BBQ chicken pie, you can find the recipe in my recipe tab. It was pretty good, nothing crazy, easy to make, and with few ingredients.

BBQ Pizza Pie

Ingredients
2 onions
3 cups shredded cheese
1/2 cup water
3 cups cooked, diced chicken
1 cup chicken and rib BBQ sauce
3 flat tortillas (10″)
1 tsp cumin

Directions
1.) Cook onions, add chicken, BBQ sauce, water and cumin.
2.) Lay a tortilla on foil, spread some of the chicken mixture on, sprinkle with cheese, put another tortilla wrap on top, and repeat layers.
3.) Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until warmed through.

Black Forest Mousse Cake

Last Saturday was Ryan’s birthday, and he is a big fan of black forest cake. My mom makes it for him almost every year. So this year I decided to do a black forest mousse cake, a recipe from whats cooking magazine. It was quick and easy to make, and super delicious. I think next time I make it, I might put them in individual cups, to be even more presentable. Will most definitely be making this again!

# 18 - Give blood

Completed!! Went on Tuesday, and gave blood. Felt good, and I learned that by donating blood, my blood can help 3 different people. Hopefully I will go again when my 56 days are up and make a habit of it! PS.. I hate this picture of me, lol.

# 14 - Collect 30 poems or quotes and scrapbook them..

So for # 14 I have come to the decision that I would also like to add favourite song lyrics as well as poems and quotes. I have always loved the song ‘somewhere over the rainbow’ and thought it would be nice to put that song in. I also really love the song ‘can’t help falling in love with you’. So I have added those two songs to the list and I’m sure there will be more to come!

# 69 - Bake a treat and bring it into work

So I have been without the internet for a week, so I haven’t been able to keep up. But I have completed a task on my list… bringing in a treat for everyone at work. On October 16th, I made some pumpkin swirl brownies into work. I thought they were so so, but everyone at work loved them!!

# 55 ...

Changed number 55 – ‘using reusable bags for 1 month’ … the new #55- “Take 3 photos in black and white, and get them framed”

Eat 1 fruit a day for a month...

I love this task… I generally pack a fruit or 2 in my lunch for work until the fruit bowl runs empty, and then I will go without until the next grocery stop, which sometime can last a while. Doing this task also will make me snack on something healthy when I have the day off or am not working until the evening, and may also make me buy groceries more often! Today I made myself a fruit smoothie for breakfast -> blueberries, raspberries, banana, and frozen yogurt. Taste just like booster juice except better! Now I’d like to buy some protein powder to put in, and a magic bullet so I can bring it to work for my morning snack.

...

Had to put my first 10 cents in my food jar today :( Threw out some bread and leftover stir fry…. But on the up side, I went and bought some yummy fruit to start eating one fruit a day for a month!

# 3 - Eat at 5 new restaraunts

So last night we were planning on going to our usual restaurant. I put my shoes on and out the door we went, wearing a hoodie, no purse, and leaving the door unlocked. We got to the restaurant to find out that they were full and wouldn’t have room for a 1/2 hour so we decided to venture into Kemptville. No idea on where we were going to eat so we started to drive around. We passed this little restaurant called the Branch, and Ryan remembered someone at work saying that it was really good….and good it was! We walked in, and it is a tiny tiny place full of local artists art work. They have a microphone, and some music talent pretty much every night. We got soup to start, no charge, tiny little toast appetizers, and water with fresh orange and fresh lemon flavour. We looked at the menu and right away felt very very under dressed. There menu is full of local food (local meat, local vegetables, and even local beer and wine). And they change there menu with the season. The lights dimmed and the candles were lit, and our food was being set on the table.

Ryans order:

Meat and Potatoes: fresh O’Brien Farms striploin, cut to order & grilled to temperature and served with red wine gravy, smashed potatoes, and seasonal veggies :

6oz…$25.99, 8oz…$32.99, 10oz…$39.99, 12oz…$45.99

Pasture-raised, free-roamin’, happy Osgoode cows.

(suggested pairing: Robert’s Rock Cabernet Merlot)

My order:

Wholly Crêpes: morsels of herb roasted chicken and seasonal veggies wrapped in crêpes & served with sherry cream sauce, fresh herbs & sprouts, sweet-hot tomato chutney, and toasted garlic breadcrumbs …$21.99

They were absoloutley delicious!! Our bill was expensive, and we were definitely under dressed. (which you could see for sure as the small place started to fill up with their reservations). But we will be going back again. Hopefully when there is a show.

Beginner

Hi everybody! So I have never had a blog before, so this is all very new to me. I started because of the Project 101, where you make a list of 101 things you want to do in 1001 days. A lot of people have made a blog for their list, and I thought I would try to. Any advice or ideas, let me know!
